Clarkston Cares is under the Giving Grace program of the local nonprofit Remerge. Giving Grace was founded in 2012 by Christy Betz to help people in Metro ATL with emergency crises that threaten displacement from their communities. Christy herself grew up in Clarkston and has a special place in her heart for this community. When she and Ellie met, they decided to partner to start a special program for Clarkston. Giving Grace served over 2,400 families in 2022, providing over $1.7 million in direct assistance with rent, utilities, food, car repairs, daycare fees, essential items, and more.
